MTVBase Top 20 Naija Artistes of 2019, What are your thoughts. Are they truly worth it.
According to MTV Base,their criteria should be these, the artist must have had a big impact in the year 2019 in airplays,digital downloads,chart rankings and general visibility.
Burna Boy takes the first position. Seriously,2019 should be the best year for his career so far.So many beautiful fantastic songs ,so many nominations and so many awards to his name.
Davido was so much busy this year with his family life from marriage proposal to the birth of his first son Ifeanyi by his assurance girlfriend Chioma. So much collaborations with American heavy stars , Cardi B and Chris Brown.
Zlatan made it through this year .He has beautiful lovely songs that people sing everywhere you go. His collaboration with DJ Cuppy was a bomb.
Talking about 2019 without mentioning Naira Marley may break some histories.He had his own fair share of afflictions. He slept in jail and faced some persecutions but yet he pulled through. His song soapy was something else.
Wizkid himself is a music guru.You can’t talk of 2019 without mentioning Wizkid.The Joro singer has always being a force to beat.He doesn’t retire and he will remain for a very long time.I doubt if he will ever retire because he is so good in his craft. What he needs is to open his mouth and it rains music.
Tiwa Savage is one unbeatable Nigerian female artist.Since she came to stardom she has remained up there. She made it through NewYork Times Music Billboard with her 49-99 song
Mayorkun was good.Not very popular though but his music career is growing fast.He deserves this seat.
Rema the young talented Dumebi singer is anothet powerful force.Very new in the industry but very powerful. Rema is a force.
JoeBoy equally made it to the list among thousands of skillful Nigerian singers. It is not easy to be here.He tried.
Olamide equally did very well this year.Some people were saying that Rema is better of. But he shouldn’t he compared to anyone because he has so much beautiful songs and awards to his credit.
Teni is a complete entertainer in all ramifications. She is funny and loving with a good voice that can raise the dead. She is a household name and a lady in another level. Her songs are anthems around the globe.
Perruzi broke the internet with his song “If you see the mermaid,her royal majesty ” And in real life he made a right choice by choosing her royal Majesty the controversial king CeCe. The most talked about BBNaija ex-housemate to feature in his song. That song is a hit

Fireboy with his unbeatable dancing steps with his dancers .He is not hidden all the year.
Falz : The bad guy Falz has never stopped trending since he came to the music scene.The son of reputable Senior Advocate of Nigeria but he never looked back in pursuing his own dreams.He is all over the air space with so many beautiful collaboration all through the year.
Kizz Daniel created a beautiful dancing step for Nigerians and his songs are killing and irresistible.
Patoranking carries fire through his music.Girl I can’t get you out of head is ringing inside my head as I write.He did all through the year.
Niniola joined her sister Teni to reign all through the year. The height of it was when Drake recognised her and followed her on Twitter and demanded that her music be played for him on one of his radio interviews. She is worth being among the top 20
Skiibi did so well with so many collaborations with stars like Falz and Teni. “Daz how stars do”
Rudeboy after defunct PSquare group has taken the centre stage dwarfing his brother Peter. His songs like Reason with me and Audio money are hits and too good.He is seriously trending.
Timaya made it to the top 20.Yes he deserves it after tbe music crooner gave the world a song that reduced depression and suicide. The song “I can’t kill myself” came at right time when suicide was too common among the youths. And we noticed that since then we don’t hear suicide stories any longer.Please allow me to flex.Nice hit from Timaya.
This is our count down though many others who made beautiful songs couldn’t make it to top 20. 2020 presents another playground for more songstars to exhibit their talents.
