Two Nigerian Actresses Call Out Award Organizers Over Their Partiality

Every actor looks foward to winning award/awards one day especially when he/she is doing well in the acting career.

These days they said it is not so in Nigeria movie industry called Nollywood.

It was alleged by some actors that you belong to a clique if you truly want to be recognized.

Two Nigerian actresses complained bitterly and called out some organizers of the latest award given to actors over the weekend .

Two Nigerian actresses took it upon themselves to call out these organisers.

Actress Ruth Kadiri was first to complain and tagged these organisers

According to Ruth she wrote,

I will not be pressured. I will keep working hard. @lagosstategovt @moabudu @ijayonah @nifsummit thanks for overlooking me and congrats to everyone who got recognized. 🎤 the film industry is controlled by women, so if you’re going to do it, do it right or don’t do it at all

Another actress Halima Abubakar equally complained bitterly as she posted,

Clique and gossip will kill Nollywood, I give these people roles – Actress Halima Abubakar reacts to Eko Star Film and TV Awards snub

Halima’s reaction comes hours after actress Ruth Kadiri accused Mo Abudu, the Lagos State Government, and others of “overlooking” her at same event which held on April 12 in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Like Ruth Kadiri, Halima Abubakar also insinuated that she was snubbed because she doesn’t belong to any clique.

The actress who described the award organizers as “sentimental and kill-joys”, also claimed that some of those who got awards at the event are people she gives movie roles.

They may not be far from the truth.Nollywood should look into this matter.
