Judge Orders Netflix to Remove Film With Gay Jesus

Netflix has been ordered by a Brazilian judge to stop showing a film depicting Jesus as a gay man and which prompted a gasoline bomb attack on the satirists behind the film.

The ruling by Rio de Janeiro judge, Benedicto Abicair, on Wednesday responded to a petition by a Brazilian Catholic organization that argued the “honor of millions of Catholics” was hurt by the film. .

The special was produced by Rio-based film company, Porta dos Fundos, whose headquarters was targeted in the Christmas Eve attack.

Judge Abicair said the program’s withdrawal “is beneficial not only to the Christian community, but to Brazilian society which is mostly Christian.”

Recount that weeks ago over one million people signed an online petitions. all over the world asking Netflix to take down and completely remove the film GayJesus and whatsoever it stood for.

A Nigerian gay Bisi Alimi staying in the United States was among the people who kicked against the petitions. He said that there’s nothing in the film that went contrary to the bible doctrines as he had watched the film. But one of the reasons for the petition is that Jesus was never gay and it should be out of place to use that name recklessly.

The name Jesus means a lot to every christian and our saviour cannot be mocked by people who might not believe in his salvation.

That absolutely a sound judgement and a welcome development.
